Suwandi Foundation
Non-profit by Lily Slaughter & Kaitlynn Pimentel, Loyola Marymount University ‘23
When visiting the rural area of Bail, Indonesia, Lily Slaughter faced the stark reality of education disparity impacting 4.4 million children. Feeling compelled to change this reality, Lily and Kaitlynn Pimentel founded the Suwandi Foundation, a non-profit committed to bridging the education gap. Connecting Indonesian community leaders with US volunteers aims to uplift impoverished Balinese students aged three to twenty-five.
The foundation envisions more than immediate aid; it seeks to foster a culture of sustainable change, kindness, and generosity. They hope to empower students in Bali and the United States to invest their time in sustainable change and live lives of kindness and generosity.
