Fighting For Hope

Non-profit by Samhita Nagubandi, UC Berkeley Haas ‘25 & Akash Ponna UC Berkeley ‘25

Samhita Nagubandi and Akash Ponna are Juniors at UC Berkeley and the co-founders of a mental health non-profit, Fighting for Hope. They are on a mission to generate more conversation about mental health and suicide prevention.

In Samhita’s second year of high school, she noticed the lack of gravity that the topic of mental health had in educational institutions and was set on creating tangible change with her passion for mental health. Her ultimate vision is to generate more conversation about mental health and suicide prevention and continue advocating for different mental health aspects. She and Akash run a Berkeley club chapter of their organization and would love to expand to different schools to create a greater impact.
